President of the Association participated at an environmental conference in Moldova

On June 5, 2015 President of the Association on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving O. Reminska took part in the annual international conference “Environment and climate change: from vision to action”, in Chisinau, Moldova.

The conference was organized by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the Government of France and Sweden, UNDP, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Austrian Development Cooperation, the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and others. The event brought together over 800 participants from more than 10 countries. The main issues to consider were: climate change and preparation of a new International treaty, energy efficiency and climate change, waste management, protection and conservation of natural resources, environmental education and etc.

In particular, the section on Energy efficiency the establishment and operation of an Energy efficiency fund of Moldova, functioning of the ESCO market in Moldova, the law on energy efficiency of buildings, implementing of legislation on energy performance of buildings, the level of energy efficiency of buildings in France and others were examined. It should be noted that according to the objectives of the Moldovan Government it is planned to improve the energy efficiency of old buildings to the level of 50 kW / m2, and from 2019 – to reach an ambitious goal and get to the level of «zero” energy consumption buildings.
